Nobel Biocare says new research shows 'no unusual bone loss' from its implants
STOCKHOLM (AFX) - Swiss-Swedish dental implant company Nobel Biocare AB (Nachrichten) said four scientific publications will shortly publish research showing no unusual bone loss associated with use of its NobelDirect and NobelPerfect products.
'All publications demonstrate that the marginal bone average stabilizes at the level of the first implant thread and consequently shows no unusual bone loss,' said Nobel Biocare.
It said the new research will be published in, among others, the European Journal for Dental Implantologists.
The company noted it has already presented a one-year study showing a survival rate of 98.3 pct of bone.
Nobel Biocare's shares have been under pressure recently after allegations of bone loss associated with use of some of its products began to circulate.
