MOSCOW (AFX) - Russia will cut off gas supplies to Ukraine on Sunday if no agreement about prices is reached, Gazprom chairman Alexei Miller said.
"If Ukraine does not sign a contract on the purchase of gas in the remaining hours before the start of the new year, on January 1 at 10.00 Moscow time, gas supplies from the territory of the Russian Federation to Ukraine will be completely cut off," Miller said on NTV television.
"The actions will be precise and decisive," he said.
Miller said that there is a "detailed plan of measures" to ensure that supplies transiting Ukraine to the European Union will not be disrupted.
Nearly one fifth of western European gas imports come from Russia via Ukraine.
Interessant. Wie machen sie das? Wird das Gas für die EU eine andere Farbe bekommen?
